FAQ
How far in advance do I need to book my wedding date?
It's always best to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. I take bookings for weddings up to 18 months in advance, sometimes more.
On some occasions I can be available on short notice and be available on a quick turnaround time, so don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your dates.
What information do you need from me when booking my wedding day?
I will need the venue address at the time of booking your wedding date. If you have a wedding planner, please pass on their information as soon as possible, that way I can coordinate with them from the beginning. If you do not have a wedding planner we can discuss what your timeline is for your wedding day ahead of time.
How do I secure my wedding date?
Use my contact form below to let me know about the basics of your day. I will respond within 24 hours, if not much sooner. Once we have discussed your wishes for your wedding day photography and you are ready to book, a 25% deposit is taken to secure your chosen date. Six months before your wedding date you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance of your wedding photography package.
What if I decide I want to increase my package / number of hours after I have sent my deposit?
If you would like to increase the number of hours for you wedding photography package please let me know as soon as possible. That way I can ensure your full day is secured. I will provide details of difference in the cost of your wedding photography package and arrange for the difference in your deposit to be invoiced to you.
What do I need to provide on my wedding day?
If you have any adjustments to your timeline, please provide these at least 2 days before your wedding date. If you have a wedding planner they will provide this to me.
I like to include photos of the details from your special day. It would be awesome if you could provide a copy of your wedding invitations, all 3 wedding rings (including engagement ring), cufflinks, perfume/cologne, a couple of flowers from the wedding floral, jewelry and any other small items which are significant for your day.
Am I allowed to share my digital images on social media?
I am always very proud to see my work on social media platforms. They are your images to share on social media and with your family as you please. I am so proud when my clients also share their love and joy of the images I have delivered. Mentioning Second Shot means the world to me as referrals and word-of-mouth is best advertising that any small business can receive.
My images are not permitted to be published or used in a commercial capacity without prior consent.
How long will it be until I receive my sneak-peeks and fully edited album?
I promise to deliver your sneak-peeks within 7 days of your wedding. Your full wedding digital album will be sent within 8 weeks of your wedding, sometimes sooner.
What areas do you cover?
I am based in Virginia, USA but can travel worldwide on request.
Canada, UK, France, Germany, Austria...... the world's your oyster!
What are your charges for traveling to the wedding?
All wedding packages include the travel cost of up to 100 miles round-trip of my home address in central Virginia. Thereafter the cost is $1.00/mile one way for road-travel. Travel cost for weddings requiring overnight stay and/or flights are by separate negotiation.
